Another big week is upon me. I have two events on Tuesday which is no big deal, but on Wednesday, I speak to about 250 community leaders about the office. It is an international business forum at the airport. My office is the only local office highlighted.
Thanks to Dad and his eagle eye, he found that library is misspelled. I will have to get it re-done. Ugh.
This is just a draft of the Dubai video. Until it is fully rendered, it will be blurry. I am still waiting on the Four Seasons to give me an official picture.
My own eagle eye found tremendously misspelled. Ugh.
From March 12th – 16th, the Central Florida International Trade Office hosted a delegation from Dubai. Companies included Dubai FDI, Tecom, Dubai South, and the U.S. Commercial Attache to Dubai.
I had 11 events in 60 hours including a dinner at the Four Seasons, a luncheon with the Mayor of Orange County, and a luncheon with the airport. They didn’t have much time, but I think they saw a lot.
I even was able to tour them around Epcot to meet the Arab American Business Council in Morrocco for dinner.
It was a major success for the office.
I am creating a video, but until then, here are some pictures:
When Jonathan was here, he set-up my phone to automatically upload my phone pictures to Google Photos. It makes updating my blog so much easier. It didn’t seem to work well before. It was slow and failed to upload.
Today, I went down to the Flower & Garden Festival around 1:30 p.m. I walked a lap. I had a few salads. I really liked a watermelon salad. I picked up my passholder print for the month. I will get one in April and May too.
Bev came over around 2:30 p.m. and we ate at Seasons. I still think that kid’s salmon is a great deal for $6. Then, we went to see the the 3-D Pixar short films exhibit and the butterfly exhibit. Then, we walked around trying to find all the Easter eggs as they have the scavenger hunt again. I will probably go again the next few weeks and take pictures. I didn’t today, because I didn’t want to show Andrea where they all are located as I would like her to be surprised. Then, she told me that she wasn’t going to be down before Easter! I forgot that they are not up the entire Festival.
The eggs were more difficult to find this year. It was really fun to search for them.
I follow the “Road to Rio” on Facebook and I saw that Michael Phelps was in Orlando last night.
I found out that he was swimming today too, so I woke up really early went down to I-Drive and purchased tickets for tonight’s finals.
I was able to see the finals of men and women including the consolation and the finals of the 200 meter Butterfly, 50 meter Freestyle, 100 meter Backstroke, 200 meter breaststroke, and the 400 meter freestyle.
I was able to see Michael Phelps, Missy Franklin, Natalie Coughlin, Matt Grevers, Allison Schmitt, Nathan Adrian, and many other Olympians.
I felt a little sorry for them as it was held at a local YMCA behind a hotel on I-Drive. I saw the fastest swimmers in the world and not that many spectators were there. When I woke up and tried to be at the center when the it open at 7:45 a.m., I was scared it would be sold out. It was not.
Last Thursday, I picked up Aunt Polly at Cabana Bay at Universal and we went to the Pointe. The Pointe has a lot of neat places to eat. We ate at Taverna Opa which was a really neat Greek restaurant.
Jonathan came into town on Friday night. I picked him up and we went to Sweet Tomatoes and walked around the Epcot Resort Area. We saw IllumiNations from the Yacht Club.
Shereta helped Yanbin’s family get into Animal Kingdom. He only used 2 out of the 3 tickets, so Jonathan and I went down there and entered. The lines were so long that the only thing we did was go to the Conservation Station and brushed some animals. It was fun though. (Our meeting spot was under the elephant. Hence, the elephant below.)
Then, we went to Universal. We rode Transformers, E.T., the Simpson’s Ride, Gringott’s Bank, and the Men in Black Ride. The lines were so long there too. It was tiring. We probably waited an average of 30 to 40 minutes for single-rider lines. We saw the Mardi Gras parade. We listened to a few songs from Fall Out Boy and left around 10 p.m.
On Sunday, after church, we went to the German restaurant in Sanford and then, I took Jonathan to the airport.
