Saturday morning

We woke up early on Saturday. We ran the Gingerbread 5k. We ran through Give Kids the World. Some of the families and their special needs kids were outside cheering us on.

Afterwards, we went to SeaWorld. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando was nice enough to stop by my office and give me extra tickets to their day at the park. I also won the two flights at their expo. Andrea and I are going to Costa Rica in mid-March. SeaWorld was SeaWorld. We saw dolphins, seals, the whale show, etc. We missed the dolphin show and the penguins. I really wanted to see the penguins, but the ride was down. It is a new ride that seems to have a lot of problems.

After SeaWorld, we went over to the outlets and found a lot of good deals. We made it back to the hotel around 5 p.m. where Andrea found flowers from Bob at work in our hotel room.

The Rainy Race

anbin and a few of his friends met us at All-Star Sports. They were so nice to stay later after volunteering at the Expo. They went to the pre-race pictures and took a lot of pictures for us. It was really nice outside, but it began to rain slightly before the start of the race.

I didn’t take many pictures due to the rain. It stopped raining near the end of the race around mile 11. It was a tough race, but I think it showed what we can do. I think everyone who finished deserves a lot of credit. I have heard a lot of people finished 30 minutes to an hour slower than their personal best.

Horrible race

We had fun before we ran, but then, it seemed to rain from 10 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. — basically mile 1 to mile 11. It hasn’t rained in so long here. We were 27 minutes longer than our DSM race time.

Behind the Seeds

For Andrea’s birthday, I surprised her with a tour of her favorite Epcot ride, “Living with the Land.” I will update more in the next few days.

Best of SeaWorld

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando gave me free SeaWorld tickets. We went. I think Andrea is happy she went. We saw dolphins, whales, seals, etc. We saw a lot in 2.5 hours. The penguin exhibit was closed though. Later, we went shopping at the outlets. The outlets had some really good deals. We just came home. Flowers were waiting from my colleague/boss for Andrea for an early birthday surprise.

Wine and Dine 2014

Andrea arrived at 12:30 p.m. We met my boss for lunch at a Turkish restaurant near the airport. At 2 p.m. we drove to the race expo and picked up our race packet. I saw a former chef of mine working at the restaurant there.

We went to Hollywood Studios and went to the Frozen Sing-Along. We rode Toy Story and Star Tours. The Dancing Lights came on at 6 p.m. Afterwards, we went to Epcot to see the David Cook concert and eat around the world.

I will add a video next week. Today at work, I received some free passes to SeaWorld, so we might go there tomorrow for a few hours.

Charlotte and the surrounding area

I went to a conference this past week concerning trade with the Americas. It was fascinating. I stayed this weekend and explored the region with my college program friend, Bev, who lives there. I will update much more tomorrow night (Monday). Here are a few pictures. We only were able to drive 3 miles into Smoky Mountain National Park as the region received 16 inches of snow the night before. We were able to tour the Biltmore, home to the Vanderbilts. I will compile a video tomorrow night.
